Out on the Shelves – Classification Survey

This summer, Kyler Ford and Jessie are completing a professional experience focused on assessing the efficacy of the classification system at Out on the Shelves in Vancouver. Out on the Shelves is a community, volunteer run library located on Granville Island. Their mission is to foster a free, accessible, and safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and their allies to gather, access library services, provide a platform for queer creators, and discover and share stories and resources centered on queer experiences.

Our project asks readers if the classification scheme used at Out on the Shelves helps them find the materials they’d like to check out. We’re asking folks to complete a short survey to answer these questions. Readers’ responses will help us make the library easier to navigate and the website more intuitive to search and browse.

Anyone can participate, and for your efforts, you will be entered in a drawing to win $50.
